...as i see it

on his chair...

we (me and the kiddos) spend a lot of time in my office. 

homework, art projects, computer time etc. happens here.

and milo has taken to sitting on this chair - pretty much right beside me.

i was admiring him today.

because he is so young and strong and shiny and EXCITED about everything.

because he adds all that good stuff to our house and our lives.

because exuberance is something he has in spades.

and, i dig that about him.

three p&js...

my big boy and his dad are away on a little weekend trip.

and i miss them

especially ben, because this is the FIRST time...

so this morning, in my morning haze, i starting the lunch making process.

after i had made and wrapped three p&js, noah pointed out my error.

made us laugh a little.

made me miss him more.

have a great time

a super, fantastic time

and then

come HOME to us

because we miss you!!!!

milo and the red couch

still growing (and posing for me in front of the red couch).

mr. milo is now 8 months old.

he is starting to look more like a dog (less like a puppy) to me.

along the way...

2 months old. round belly. tiny puppy teeth.

5 months

7 months

8 months. looking very much like a dog with his new (getting bigger everyday) thick neck. 

did i mention that i love this dog?

mission accomplished...

the weekend road trip was a success.

highlights:

*hanging out w/ birthday girl in her new(ish) digs

*pizza, suppli and warm olives @ 2 amy's - i could go on and on about this, but i will use restraint

*shoe shopping - 'nough said

*coffee + smores + wine = midday snack stop (seriously)

*more shopping + yummy dinner

*late night wine party on green couch + taped episodes of real housewives of nyc 

best part was hearing her laugh in person. if you know her, you know it is a really good sound.

happy st. patty's day...

one of my leprechauns (#1) is now too cool to get dressed up for st. patty's day.

(he IS in middle school, after all...)

another one of my leprechauns (#2) is on the verge of being too cool to get dressed up for st. patty's day.

leprechaun #3 is still all about holidays. 

and, she couldn't BELIEVE i let her wear green eye shadow to first grade today.

it's always a happy day when we pull out the face paint...

i almost forgot...

...how much fun it is to play w/ play-doh.

lucky for me, i know two little girls who were happy to remind me.

do you remember what it feels like to open BRAND new cans of play-doh?

(very similar to the high caused by opening a BRAND NEW crayola 64 pack)

i highly recommend it:

play-doh mayhem... milo had some crazy colored poo the next day

a glimpse of spring...

milo and noah discover they both really like to play basketball outside in the driveway.

they played together for a long time.

happy.

he was so tired

but

just

stop

something tells me he is really going to like living here w/ his kids all summer long...
