...as i see it

last day of 08....

this year, two beautiful babies were born into our family.

we lost our beloved maggie, and adopted sweet milo.

we celebrated a milestone birthday w/ lots of laughing and roller coasters.

we dipped our toes into the ocean(s), and stood on the edge of the grand canyon (not too close, grandma).

thanks to everyone who shared this beautiful year with us.

reflecting on 08, i put together a few images of the year.

(i could have gone on forever it seemed, but a girl's gotta stop somewhere.)

here's to an 09 filled with good health, peace, and joy.

90 days...

90 days ago we brought him home

he has been a stinker and an angel

he has grown taller and longer

he has gained 23 lbs (and counting)

he has lodged himself perfectly and permanently in our hearts

90 days ago he was a sick puppy with no name (just an ID number)

now, he's our milo

didn't that work out well for all of us?..

you may remember this family from a few weeks ago.

well, here they are again.

lots of handsome boys (i think even the dogs are boys) + 1 beautiful mommy...

i really like this shot. both dogs are kissing boys...

how sweet are they?..

full of christmas cheer...

she came home from school today bubbling over.

maybe it was the reindeer antlers given to her at the school holiday party where she undoubtedly ate enough sugar to make herself fly. 

maybe it was the capri sun/candy cane combo she was clutching in her left hand.

maybe it was the fantastic snow measuring penguin she made at school as a gift to us.

could be that tomorrow is her all time favorite day of the whole year.

whatever the reason, she was bubbling.

and that feeling is catchy.

and happy.

and good.

here's hoping your christmas is bubbly and beautiful...

after the antler incident, i had to promise to put them away until (at least) next christmas. something about puppy dignity...

we talked.

he is a large puppy

it is a small space

but, it is his favorite spot to hang out and look out the window.

how does he get himself wedged into that tiny nook between the sofa and the tree?

i don't know.

how does he get out?

not gracefully...

see him hiding in there?

i can tell he thinks this is a perfectly reasonable place for him to lounge...
